When is a HEPA change required?
HEPA filters usually have a shelf life of 5 years; however, with regular servicing, maintenance checks & assessment via HTM 03 01 verifications, AirisQ can help monitor the condition of the filters and determine whether replacements are necessary. AirisQ can ensure that downtime & disruption is minimised, only arranging for a replacement when HEPA filters are at the end of their useful life.
To prolong the life of HEPA filters AirisQ recommends all staff using a HEPA filter-based air cleaning device (for example a UCV canopy) be trained in the management, maintenance and safe usage of the device. If clinical staff understand the control panels and issues raised by indicators, maintenance can be alerted immediately, and faults rectified faster.
Humidity control should also be carefully monitored as HEPAs in a higher humidity environment will lose integrity faster and need more frequent replacement.
